SUMMARY:Feminist talks- Mary Magdalene: A feminist icon?
DESCRIPTION:We warmly invite you to a english edition of feminist talks\, in which we will focus on Mary Magdalene. When you hear the name Mary Magdalene\, what comes to mind? A disciple\, a sinner\, a feminist? Together\, we will explore her many faces and discuss about her relevance for the relationship between feminism and religion. We will have an open conversation and look at a variety of sources which shape the way Magdalene is remembered\, from the Bible to the Da Vinci Code. \n\n\n\nThe talk will be led by Alissa Kivits from the Netherlands\, who recently graduated from a master in religious studies at Groningen University. Her field of expertise is the relation between secular meaning-making and wellbeing. She is interested in the way religious figures and symbolism shape relationships and self-image. Currently\, she is volunteering at ABF-Åland with the European Solidarity Corps. \n\n\n\nAll this will of course be accompanied by fika!
